Amutha has been involved in various charitable activities since 2006. She is a direct contributor to Fred Hollow Foundation & Child Fund Australia since 2006. In 2014 she started volunteering in Lautoka Hospital, Fiji providing training for the ICU nurses with Heamodialysis education, with the support of the Rotary club and Fresenius Medical Care. Her dear Fijian friend who is not only a dialysis technician but also organises these trips to Fiji, with a heart of Gold to help his people suffering from kidney failure.
Amutha 's most cherished charity is her own. In Sri Lanka, she provides educational materials such as books and shoes for children in low-socioeconomic parts of eastern province, her birth town. She collaborates with government officials, school principals & Grama servers in order to collect data of children in need to aid distribution; at the beginning of each year.
Her vision is to expand her charity nationwide in Sri Lanka. Every single child in the low-socioeconomic background should be able to receive education without worrying about affordability. "I am very much passionated about this work because my mother faced unimaginable challenges in order to educate all four of us kids, many years ago" says Amutha.
